Chinese Red Sauce (grouprecipes)

2 c water
3/4 c Heinz ketchup
3/4 c white sugar
3 T red grenadine
3 T cornstarch
1/4 c water

Combine the first 4 ingredients in a saucepan on top of the stove and cook on medium heat for 1 – 2 min. In the meantime, mix 3 T cornstarch with 1/4 c water and add to the other ingredients to thicken the sauce. Cook until thickened.
