Honey Beer Bread (gimmesomeoven)

3 c flour
1 T baking powder
1 t salt
1/4 c honey*
1 12 oz bottle beer
4 T butter, melted
1 c grated cheddar cheese (opt)

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Grease a 9 x 5″ bread pan. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt until combined. Slowly pour beer and honey into the flour mix and stir until combined. (Pop your honey in the microwave for a few seconds beforehand to make it easier to stir in!) Stir in cheese if using. Pour half of the melted butter into the bottom of the loaf pan, and spread it around evenly. Add the batter to the pan in an even layer, and brush the rest of the butter around evenly on top of the batter. Bake for 40 – 50 min until the top of the bread is golden brown and a toothpick or knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Serve immediately.
